Pezeshkian sends congratulatory message to Japanese PM on National Day

TEHRAN - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has sent a message to Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, expressing congratulations to Japan on National Day.

In his message, the president also called for deepening historical relations between Iran and Japan and reinforcing bilateral and international cooperation.

Pezeshkian also expressed content with the age-old relations between the two countries, expressing hope that practical and effective steps will be taken during the second term of the Japanese premier’s administration to cement cooperation on different fronts.

The president said the fundamental approach in Iran’s foreign policy is to boost regional and international peace and security, welcoming Japan’s responsible role in global arenas.

“With reliance on an approach based on dialogue, Japan can play an effective role in easing tensions, reinforcing stability and promoting a diplomatic solution in the West Asia region based on the principles of dialogue, cooperation and mutual respect,” said Pezeshkian.

He also wished the Japanese prime minister, government, and nation prosperity and success.

Iran and Japan have enjoyed cordial relations for years, seeking to maintain close cooperation in various areas.
